WebberZone Snippetz v2.1 – A Block and a Toggle

Last year, I released WebberZone Snippetz v2. Not only did I rebrand Add to All, but I also introduced the new snippets manager, which took your favourite snippets plugin to the next level.

I am excited to announce the release of WebberZone Snippetz v2.1.0, packed with powerful new features and thoughtful modifications to enhance your experience. Whether you’re a developer, site administrator, or casual WordPress user, this update makes managing and displaying snippets easier and more efficient than ever.

Snippetz v2.1

Block Support for Snippets

The new release introduces a dedicated snippet block, allowing you to easily select and display any snippet directly within the block or site editor.

  • Seamlessly integrate snippets into your content or templates.
  • Select and display any of your snippets directly within the block editor
  • Take full advantage of site editor compatibility for theme customization

This addition ensures that you can use snippets flexibly across your site without messing with shortcodes or custom placements. Of course, you can continue to use shortcodes!

Enable/Disable Toggle Button

Snippetz Screen

Managing snippets just got simpler! Each snippet now includes an On/Off toggle button on the snippet screen.

  • Quickly activate or deactivate snippets without deleting them.
  • Perfect for temporarily disabling scripts or content without losing your settings.
  • Provides a clear overview of which snippets are active at a glance.

Snippets Visibility Update

I have now changed how the snippets post type is registered:

  • Snippets are no longer public or visible on the frontend by default.
  • This modification ensures that snippets are accessible only through the snippet screen, improving security and preventing accidental public exposure of sensitive scripts.
  • The update aligns with best practices for managing custom code snippets.
  • Snippets can be queried using the REST API if a user is logged in and is an admin.

Why These Changes Matter

These updates are designed to streamline how you manage and use snippets across your WordPress site. By integrating a block, I have made it easier to place snippets exactly where you need them, while the toggle button offers greater control. The visibility modification adds an extra layer of security, ensuring your snippets remain private unless explicitly displayed.
