WebberZone Snippetz v2.4.0: Insert Snippets Faster in the Classic Editor
I built WebberZone Snippetz so you never have to touch a theme file just to add a tracking script or a bit of custom CSS. You could always create snippets, no matter which editor you used.
Inserting one into a post was the awkward part. You had to remember the snippet ID and type the shortcode yourself.
The block editor has had a snippet picker built into its block for a while now. I wanted that same convenience here too, not a workaround.
This is where the new Insert Snippet button comes in.
Insert Snippet Button in the Classic Editor
The button sits right next to Add Media, above the content editor. Click it, and a modal opens with a dropdown of your published snippets.
Pick one, and the plugin inserts the shortcode for you:
No more hunting through Snippets → All Snippets for an ID. No more typos in the brackets.
I kept the picker as a plain dropdown rather than a search box. Most sites run a handful of snippets, not hundreds, so scrolling a short list beats typing a query.
The best part is you don’t have to leave the post to hunt down a snippet ID anymore.
Upgrade Notes
There’s nothing to configure. Update the plugin, and the button shows up automatically in the Classic Editor.
